Shenston Road is situated in the West Midlands, between Birmingham Snow
Hill and Wolverhampton, and is a heavily industrialised area. The emphasis is
on freight operations in the early 1970s, with plenty of pre-tops blue and
green locomotives.
There is a large contingent of scratchbuilt and heavily modified rolling
stock, which compliments the industrial landscape and steelworks, with
outlying residential areas featured on other parts of the layout.
The layout is permanantly housed in a purpose built building, and was
constucted by Greg Brookes and Paul James. The trackwork is plain SMP with
copperclad point construction with underneath hidden storage sidings, which
has allowed a greater area for scenic display.
