The layout Holmeworth was based on a medium sized town in the conurbation of West Yorkshire, and set in the late 1970's.

The centrepiece of the layout was a large 5 platform station, which served both Intercity and local services from the Eastern and Midland regions.

The four track main line was host to a large assortment of locomotives and rolling stock.

Although the layout has now been dismantled, its soul lives on and some of the buildings have started to appear on other projects. The inovative storage and fiddle yard is now part of the new layout 'Wibdenshaw' which is now on the exhibition circuit.

Holmeworth attended well over 40 exhibitions during its life, and the grand finale came when it appeared in Utrecht, Holland during November 2000.
